First international
competition
for accordionists.

Founded by Daniela Dikova in creative consonance with the eminent Bulgarian accordionist Krassimir Sterev, the VIVAKORDEON competition for accordionists non-professionals and accordionists with professional orientation until the age of 19 aims to encourage all those whose dedication to the accordion is an expression of their love for the music making.

AGENDA
Take part in the first edition of the VIVAKORDEON competition! The competition will take place between April 5th and April 7th, 2019 in the halls of the Bulgaria Concert Complex, 1 Aksakov Street, 1000 Sofia.

• Bank document for the transfer of the application fee.
• GDPR consent.

RULES
1. Who may participate?

The First International Competition for Accordionists VIVAKORDEON 2019 is open to participants aged under 19 years:

– studying accordion in music schools or with private pedagogues;

– studying accordion in musical classes of general education schools or in music schools and music universities;

– wish to have the unforgettable experience of performing as a solo accordionist at a prestigious concert hall in Sofia.

2. Organizer, dates and location
The VIVAKORDEON competition is organized for the first time in the present year by the Ardenza Foundation with the creative surge of the pianist Daniela Dikova and the accordionist Krassimir Sterev. The competition will take place between April 5th and April 7th, 2019 in the halls of the Bulgaria Concert Complex, 1 Aksakov Street, 1000 Sofia.

​3. Competition round, Gala concert, prizes
There is only one competition round. The jury will award the participants in each group (see No. 5 below) with the first, second, or third prize. All participants will receive diplomas and medals.

The jury will award the Grand Prix of the VIVAKORDEON competition based on the competition tour. The Grand Prix winner is entitled to perform in the VIVAPIANO Gala concert, which will be held on 7 April 2019, at 14:00.

4. Competition program
The works to be played in the competition are freely chosen by the participant and should be indicated in the application form. It is acceptable to perform from music sheets (i.e., non-memorized). Under ALL TYPES ОF ACCORDIONS we understand acoustic chromatic accordions: accordions with standard bass, accordions with free bass manual, accordion with standard bass and free bass manual, of course piano accordion and all types of chromatic button accordion systems.

5. Competition groups
Citizens of Bulgaria and all other countries may participate in the competition in the following 3 groups, each with a different age range and maximum timing for the pieces to be performed. The age of the participant is determined by the number of his completed years by the date of the contest.

Group 1 All types of accordion – accordionists up to 10 years old

Program of free choice, with max. duration of 4 minutes

Group 2 All types of accordions – accordionists 11 to 14 years old

Program with max. duration of 10 min., with minimum one original piece for accordion

Group 3 All types of accordions – accordionists 15 to 19 years old

Program with max. duration of 15 min., program including one original accordion piece and one piece written before 1800.

6. Schedule for the competition round
The schedule will be arranged by the date of birth of the participants within each group. All participants must be present at least 30 minutes prior to their performance in order to be officially registered in the competition. The competition round is open for audience.

7. International jury
The competition jury comprises well-known musical pedagogues from various countries and will work in accordance with the competition regulations, approved by the VIVAPIANO Organizing Commitee. All decisions of the jury, including the ranking of the participants and the repertoire to be performed in the Gala concert, are final and cannot be appealed.

8. Participant expenses
All expenses related to participation in the competition (travel, accommodations, meals, etc.) are covered by the participant.

9. License and copyrights
The participant authorizes the Ardenza Foundation to take photographs and make audio and video recordings in order to document his/her participation in the competition, and unconditionally waives his/her right to receive royalty payments or other compensation for the use of these materials to promote the competition.

10. Agreement with the Competition Rules
By sending the completed application form and documents, the participant agrees with the competition rules.

11. How to apply?

JURY
